FAQ — SigmaTracker
Why do calculations use UTC?
A day has to start and end at the same moment for everyone, so SigmaTracker does all its calculations in UTC, as exchanges do. The day boundary, "yesterday", the daily change and the daily history all run on UTC days, and the schedule of the daily summary is stored as a UTC time.
The time zone you choose only changes how times are displayed, so they look familiar: timestamps, chart axes and the daily summary time. It never changes what is calculated.
Offsets in the time zone picker are shown as GMT±N, like iOS does. Settings shows the current offset as UTC±N.
